Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) measurement to predict blood profile in sheep to help diagnose anemia caused by haemonchosis

چکیده

Haemonchus contortus infection (haemonchosis) often occurs in sheep and cause chronic blood losses. These worms causing symptoms of anemia that can continue hypoproteinemia or even death. Therefore, early recognition anemic conditions due to haemonchosis becomes very important. Rapid accurate detection the incidence will help determination appropriate therapy. The purpose this study was detect with easy, fast, non-invasive way through SpO2 examination. A total 20 were divided into 2 groups, control treatment group. Treatment group artificial used as a model for anemia. results showed normal levels 90.30±6.98% – 92.80±5.37% which described number RBC 9.78±1.98x106/µl– 10.44±1.52106/µl, Hb 8.42±1.07 g/dl 9.14±1.03 HCT 26.79±3.27% 29.37±2.94%. When anemic, values dropped 81.40±4.09% reflecting 8.18±2.14x106/µl, 6.98±1.28 21.82±3.93%. strongest relationship equation y=0.1334x-3.856 correlation 85.8%. coefficient is 0.74 so value guess condition approximate hemoglobin value. From these shows be an estimator sheep. SPO2 examination needs combined EPG confirm whether caused by other causes.

Immune Responses Associated with Resistance to Haemonchosis in Sheep

This paper examines the known immunological and genetic factors associated with sheep resistance to infection by Haemonchus contortus. Such resistance is an inheritable genetic trait (h(2), 0.22-0.63) associated with certain sheep breeds. Resistant sheep do not completely reject the disease; they only harbor fewer parasites than susceptible sheep and therefore have a lower fecal egg count. Prot...

How to Design Peripheral Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) and Optical Heart Rate Monitoring (OHRM) Systems Using AFE4403

Pulse Oximeters in clinics have a finger clip type probe that has an LED on one side and a photo detector on the other side. The light emitted from one side of the finger travels through tissue, venous blood and arterial blood and is collected in the detector. Most of the light is absorbed or scattered before it reaches the photo detector in the other side of the finger. The flow of blood is he...

Exercise peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) accurately reflects arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) and predicts mortality in systemic sclerosis.

BACKGROUND Measures of oxygenation have not been assessed for prognostic significance in systemic sclerosis-related interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD). METHODS 83 subjects with SSc-ILD performed a maximal cardiopulmonary exercise test with an arterial line. The agreement between peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) and arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) was examined and survival differences be...

INVESTIGATION OF PHOTOPLETHYSMMOGRAPHIC SIGNALS AND ARTERIAL BLOOD OXYGEN SATURATION VALUES (SpO2) DURING BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF-INDUCED HYPOPERFUSION

Photoplethysmography is a non-invasive electro-optical technique widely used in the study and monitoring of the pulsations associated with changes in blood volume in a peripheral vascular bed. Photoplethysmography is used in the estimation of arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) by pulse oximetry. A reflectance finger photoplethysmographic (PPG) probe and a multiplexed data acquisition system oper...
